The EU Spam Symposium has the goals and objectives to:

- Provide a forum for stakeholders from various disciplines and professions
- Provide a state-of-the-art technical overview
- Disseminate recent research outcomes, policies and strategies
- Cross-fertilize opinions from research, entrepreneurs and government officials
- Initiate working groups or discussion platforms on a local or regional level
- Define the agenda for the next years
- Communicate the implications of spam to society
- Stimulate regional activity
